Celebrate

What are you most proud of that you’ve accomplished this year so far? The big and the little things? As spring arrives, remember that it is all the little things that make something a big thing. What are you celebrating in you, in your efforts and accomplishments?

Are you feeling the excitement that is building with the spring? I love the energy that comes with spring, it’s all new again like the New Year. Wanting to set new goals and become a new person and change your life in the New Year is repeated with warmth, mud and flowers in the spring.

And as I have reflected on all this, I’ve really settled into this feeling of being present in this moment. Of knowing that who I am and what I’m doing right now is an accumulation. Whether it is New Year’s or new life of spring.

Every goal I’ve ever had my whole life is not something new that will happen on January first nor April 1st, nor any other 1st. As I pondered about this I thought, ‘what is the difference between December 31st and January 1st like what is the winter and what is the spring?’

The answer is 24 hours. And the New Year isn’t going to change who you are just like the baby chicks aren’t. But a New Year and new life is a reflection of who you have become in each of your 24 hours of your life.

In that spirit of what we’ve created this year and what we have come to celebrate about life; I’ve decided to celebrate my own accomplishments.  I thought, you know, everything that I do each day is a reflection of every goal I have ever had.

How I continue that into the New Year, this spring or any other beginning IS my life, my goal and my accomplishment.  How do I celebrate especially what I have accomplished?! In any way I want. When it’s Friday afternoon and it looks like snow outside, my office desk chair sits empty.

Even though I should be working.  Inside my head, my boss (me) says, ‘You should have some chocolate!’  I respond, ‘You’re right I should.’ I’m eating most beautiful of chocolates your will ever see, so my desk chair will sit empty while I enjoy this…

OMG it’s snowing!  Sooo, I say to my kids, ‘Let’s get ice cream and dance in the snow! And let’s watch snow fall on my ice cream. I stare in awe at the beautiful shapes nature sprinkles my ice cream with and its spring.

This year, and so that I can celebrate even more next year I will continue to work on myself. So what are the things that you have accomplished this year so far that you’re so proud of that you couldn’t have expected? I want to celebrate with you.

Happy Friday.  And now it’s time for mom to go out…
